KIRKUS REVIEW

Refreshingly casual picturization of the adventures of building a house. A family story -- first the unsuccessful hunt for the right house; then the decision to build what they want; then watching the house grow, with enough salient facts unobtrusively introduced, but with a sweep of acceptance that is right for this age group to whom corn roasts in the fireplace are more important than the things the grown-ups might worry about. The story winds up with a huge Thanksgiving party in the finished house. Pictures for every page of text (and anyone who knows the Haders will recognise them in Mr. and Mrs. D).
