KIRKUS REVIEW

A handbook for amateur magicians assembles some new, easy and not expensive tricks and effects and progresses into those that require greater skill and practice. From close-up prestidigitation this goes on to coin and money conjuring, sure card tricks, more challenging ones, mind reading and illusions, and ring and ropes, from manipulations that use equipment that is on hand to those for which special paraphernalia is needed; from casual presentations to those that must have rehearsed and expert handling. The author of two previous book's on magic and publisher of Phoenix, a publication on magic, has rounded up some interesting ideas for varying a performer's routines and programs.
