KIRKUS REVIEW

This starts out as a story -- in (purposefully?) stiff, unprofessional sentences, primerish print and strangely angled black and white drawings -- and ends up with a selection of magic tricks. In the story, Lisa and Bruce find a magic cat (he demonstrates feats of telekinesis at night on their city rooftop), lose it to a kidnapping talent agent who is the picture of leering evil, and get it back during a public performance. The appended tricks are sort of in the spirit of a cereal box bonus but without its real innocence, which the whole production seems to ape.
