KIRKUS REVIEW

A needed and lively overall study gives due recognition to the individual contributions to the Revolution, throughout the length of the colonies. Though some will quarrel with the modern style, the elevation of unfamiliar episodes, these give their own strength to a book that covers the numerous dedicated leaders and the complex of social circumstances as the fortunes of war rose and fell. Balanced.
