THE BABY ZOO

Appealing color photos of 17 rare and unusual zoo babies are presented here, including the European mouflon, Bawean deer, and fishing cat as well as the more familiar giraffe and zebra. For each, the author gives the scientific name, a map indicating range, brief facts (plus endangered status), and the correct name for the baby: kit, pup, fawn, kid, joey, etc. Guides also provide the names for many other animal babies, the names for adult males and females, and the collective noun for each animal.
