The animals and birds illustrated are superbly well drawn on pages that are live with color. However, many of the captions are inane and in some cases inaccurate to silly. For example a picture of a beautiful fox is accompanied by the phrase ""The fox hides when he sees the furrier""; or an eyestopping peacock at full fan is given the words, ""The peacock stalks proudly because he is the peacock"". These are words undermining, rather than underlining, pictures.
