KIRKUS REVIEW

The success of this little book will be assured if every salesperson will read it, for it passes with flying colors the true test of a good angling collection, i.e., it makes the non-angler feel the charm of the sport so fordibly he realizes he has missed something by not fishing. I belong to that unfortunate society who looked upon it as a boring pastime which enforced silence, but as I read I became more and more fascinated until I was simply enthralled in following Mr. Walden upstream and down, learning, chuckling, casting and being contentedly quiet. But the converts will be few compared with all the seasoned anglers who'll swallow it hook, line and sinker. It has the philosophy of Walton, the charm of Van Dyke and the humor of John Taintor Foote combined with a style delightfully distinctive--Waldenian -- it's different.
