The story of the builders of Butte and of the Clark, Heinze and Daly fight fills in details in a fairly familiar background, and, as told, is a good yarn, regardless of agreement -- or the reverse -- with point of view. The book is a blast against big business, but since the emphasis is on a period that is past, it cannot be accounted a factor in the present issues, and there should be sold on the basis of general interest, rather than current political bias. Market -- that of Lyman's Saga of the Comstook Lode and Hanighen's The Secret War for Oil, though it belongs with the former, rather than the latter, in being a dramatized, somewhat fictionized account.
