KIRKUS REVIEW

The Shaffer Lectures delivered by Professor Dodd of Cambridge, England, at Yale last year caused much favorable comment and his book based on the lectures is doubly welcome, because it also fills a definite need. The Parables have always caused trouble and in a fascinating and interesting way the author deals with the nature and purpose of the parables, individual problems that they present, special parables, etc. The book is a must for clergy, Bible Teachers, students or the person who wants to spend a leisurely Lent discovering the rare genius of Jesus as a teacher and considering the application to the work-a-day world.
