A more general book than Robert Goldman's Lose Weight and Live (page 191), (Peale does believe in counting and computing but makes it simpler for those who don't like higher mathematics-a point system (each point equates 25 calories) is substituted along with tables of the point values of almost every food. Along with what to eat, and why, nutrition- wise, there are suggestions on cooking less fattening foods, on increasing your life expectancy while cutting down your costs, on exercise, on the stiff point price of alcohol on adults and candy, on children, etc. It is all sensible and Dr. Peale, Norman Vincent's brother, is a positive thinker too.
