CANDY JONES' COMPLETE BOOK OF BEAUTY AND FASHION

Beauty, fashion and health, though you may not accept Candy's selection of doctors and techniques (skin peels for wrinkleproofing, or Dr. Leonard Cammer whose Up from Depression favored electroshock as the treatment of choice). Otherwise ex-Miss America, ex-model Candy Jones plays ""proxy mama"" with cosmetic good sense, and discusses make-up from head to toenail (you've got to be willing to spend time) and fashion with the emphasis on what's becoming, including always-in-style hats, gloves and pearls (?). On the whole you'll find that she's geared this more to the older woman (who needs a girdle under her bathing suit) than to the young thing who wouldn't bother with most of it, although Mere will be many who won't respond to her suggestion of a smile with just a show of pink gums--another doubtful desideratum.
