The book falls into two parts. The first section is written by Alexander Kerensky, Premier of the Provisional Russian Government, and in this section he outlines the background, the steps leading to the crime, -- Road to Tragedy. Then comes the main body of the text, a first hand account of the wholesale murder, of the abortive attempts to forestall it, to rescue the victims, told with a fervor and horror that time has not cooled.
