First rate dog story, based on the actual experiences of a Dobermann Pinscher, member of the Honolulu Police Force. Captain Meek has followed the dog's career with keenest interest, and --after writing Gypsy Lad, a delightful story of a hunting dog, he was inspired to do another dog story, this time with a working dog in active service. The adventures start in California -- then Franz is shipped to Honolulu when the Chief is forced to realize that his value is nil while he is pining for his ""family"" who have been transferred. So to Honolulu he goes -- and there makes good, and helps his boss to put through a much needed reform movement. Adventure -- good escape reading -- for all ages. And a good dog story.
