KIRKUS REVIEW

How they fly and how they fight, how the guns are fired, how the bombs are dropped, how the cannon is operated, how the planes manoeuvre in the stratosphere; what the potentials are of armor, power and speed, all this and more makes this an excellent follow up book for the boy who has read Hylander's book reviewed above, Flying Power. Historical background is lightly suggested, but the factual content is interestingly presented and many aspects, not touched upon in the average general book, is clearly discussed. Machine guns, ammunition, fast firing cannon, turrets, gases, plane performance, gyro instruments, etc. An excellent handbook.
