A Comment on American Civilization in the Post-War Years --1920-1930"". A somewhat ponderous and pedantic approach to the community as typified by Greenwich Village, a symbol of certain aspects of post-war American life. Too serious an analysis of its oibles, its individualism, its particular phase of the well-known American ""melting pot"", to achieve the general popularity hoped for it. Of definite interest and importance to the sociologist and the student of American life. The glamour and color and drama of Greenwich Village are lost in the method of portraying those aspects of it. The claim is made that it will do for the American city what middletowns did for the average town.
