CHINA TAKES HER PLACE

The author of several authoritative books on China -and an ""old China hand"" -- writes hero of China's years of Revolution, during all of which he was either living there or in close and intimate touch. The book, while less stimulating reading than some of the other books covering the same period, has a clarity, a simplicity, and an objectivity that makes it a very useful book for those who want a single book which will give them a reasonably comprehensive picture of what has happened in China since the overthrow of the Empire. Carl Crow is confessedly unsympathetic with Communism in all its manifestations -- but gives due credit for the contribution made by Chinese Communists. No has profound faith in the Generalissimo and the ultimate establishment of the new Constitution, and of a working democracy, even according to Western ideas.
