THE AMATEUR CHOIR DIRECTOR by Carl Hjortlang

THE AMATEUR CHOIR DIRECTOR

By

Publisher: Abingdon-Cokesbury

While this is not a book for a quantity sale, it should have a wide appeal -- every one who is interested in conducting will find it extremely helpful. It takes up the qualities necessary for a director, baton technique, simple exercises, pros and cons of baton or hand conducting, expression, director's problems, simple and advanced anthems, a fund of suggestions and an excellent bibliography. Certainly a book for public libraries wherever there are small churches, chairs, civic opera or musical groups; and if shops will locate local groups -- there should be a sale.
