Unfortunately, the prosaic title is validated in the execution as well as the intention of this retelling of the life of Jesus through the eyes of three disciples. Each testifies to His extraordinary charisma while dubbing in different aspects of this portrait. To John the Baptist, Jesus epitomized the sweetness and spiritual love; to Judas Iscariot he was a tough intellectual (called the ""executive"" by his followers); to Thomas, the Doubter, Jesus was alternately human and divine. Cumulatively, the triptych of Jesus shows him as a tired, bad tempered, confused man involved in the politics of his situation, and it is intended to give Him a human reality and make his story more contemporary, more relevant. Instead, it's only a commonplace variant of The Greatest Story Ever Told.
