KIRKUS REVIEW

This wonderfully rich, convoluted tale from the Arabian Nights (it runs as long as 100 pages in such treasured tellings as those by Padraic Colum and Kate Douglas Wiggin) is overabbreviated here, but libraries may wish to purchase this edition for the sake of the well-loved artist's dramatic, skillful watercolors--one of his last books, since he died in June 1989.
