KIRKUS REVIEW

This entry in Dutton's new series (see Stadler, below) is one of those anachronistic caveman hashes, with little Ig fighting a dinosaur for berries. (""Mine! Mine!"" both shout until Ig has the sense to say ""Ours."") Ig also makes his mother a birthday present (""How about a cave painting?"" his father suggests), gets lost while walking with his feline pet Ug, and learns (instantly) to love his new baby brother Tig. Like the stories, Ig as pictured is a little too cute, and the prehistoric setting is just a gimmick--Flintstone tricks toned down to suit the gentler message.
