It's time to let all those special people in your life know how much you like them."" Ideas for constructing cards, simple gifts, Valentine treats, party decorations, games, and favors are included in a cheerful, breezy format, lightly touching on the origin of the holiday and then focusing on the fun. Charming pencil drawings appear on nearly every page, giving visual directions and adding to the humor. The intended age group is not always clear, however: suggested silly sayings (""What did the letter say to the stamp? You send me"") may cause older readers to groan; and the idea of a boy-girl party with Romeo and Juliet quiz games could make younger readers wince. Still, they'll have a hard time resisting heart-shaped bologna and cheese sandwiches, the ""heart-y pizza,"" ""Valentine veggies,"" ""passionate pink sorbet,"" and ""Big sweetheart"" cake. Don't worry about the saint: he doesn't even make it to the index. An additional holiday browsing title.
