SILVER HEELS

Swift Eagle lived in the Blackfeet Indian reservation village. A summer spent in Montana's Glacier National Park brought him an unexpected chance to buy Silver Heels, the pony who belonged to the canny medicine man, whose price was out of Swift Eagle's reach. But when Swift Eagle saves the life of Sam, a summer visitor, who falls into the crevasse of a glacier, Sam's father offers him a chance to earn almost enough to buy Silver Heels. And the Indian boy outfoxes the wily medicine man in bringing the price within his means. Adequate but prosaic.
