May the best man win? Boodles, backed by Eddie, is running against Annie Pat, managed by Sidney, for the class presidency, and Annie Pat's removable false teeth--her ""bridth"" are hard to beat. So's her campaign, even after heart-shaped cookies (""Vote for Anna Patricia Wallace! You know she has a heart for you!"") are banned as bribery. Eddie matches SMILE (showing teeth) buttons with bigger buttons saying BE WARY, Vote for B. Cary, and generally tries to bolster Boodles but his candidate plays dirty steals ideas from a tape of Annie Pat's speech--and Eddie has to decide whom to vote for. Fast, funny politicking, ethics-coded and election-timed.
