KIRKUS REVIEW

The ten lessons here were designed for group teaching of small children but can be used by any non-aquatic adult or for older non-swimming children. They are framed by an article on better swimming for children which has many do's and don'ts for the parent or person doing the teaching and by other sections on the practical approach to living with a swimming pool in your life and on types of games for new and experienced swimmers. The series of lessons is graded from getting children used to the water to passing swimming tests and has detailed procedures for each step of the progress aimed at. With the growing number of family swimming pools in this country this should have an almost ready made market which needs exactly this kind of advice.
