Check these two pint-sized- a picture a page- pocket guides to tracks and habitats of various birds and animals as extremely handy to carry on walks or for any other quick reference. Nests, dens, burrows and ""homes"" of North American mammals and birds are pictured (the author does neat small drawings) and thumbnail sketched in the first. And in the second, the tracks of some African beasts are defined as well. The tracks book is especially nice- large single imprints are silhouetted as well as typical gaits and where important- talks, trots and gallops are differentiated. Nice pair.
