SAMMY SEAL OF THE CIRCUS

Sammy, a shy circus seal, gains the nerve to perform for an audience one evening when he does so by accident. Catherine Barr's swish red and black pictures illustrate the inadvertence, but they are pretty repetitious and take a long time to get to the point. Another book for those who liked her Snoop Watts for Dinner, Smokey's Big Discovery etc., but for our money these are all too cute and obvious.
