While a little overextended, this is a high gloss romantic trifle which takes Maura, a model, back to the Ireland of her ancestry and the glass-works of her inheritance which once produced the now priceless Culloden Cups in the days of Bonnie Prince Charlie. On the one hand there's Brendan Carroll who identified the Culloden Cup for her in her (now deceased) mother's antique shop--valuable Sheridan glass; on the other hand there's her grandmother, Lady Maude, a willful old woman, and Connor Sheridan--the last of the Sheridans--and his (?) attempt to kill Lady Maude as he did his beautiful young wife (?).... Modern Gothic--not a contradiction in terms but an attractive compromise.
