A Christmas story takes it characteristic tone from photographs of people in European fairy tale costume, set in a chalet village. Sometimes the pictures look garish like an overloaded curio shop, but on the whole they are pretty realistic and the tale they tell- of young Jack who journeys from Storyland to find work in Santa's toy shop in the village- is one that's bound to build up hopes.
