In this companion to Falwell's Feast for 10 (1993), various aspects of a traditional Christmas are celebrated and tallied by an African-American family. The gently rhyming text is simple: ""one star for the top of the Christmas tree/two angels with wings/three royal kings."" The count goes up to ten once, and then again, as more family join in. The objects are all familiar to even the youngest observers of the holiday--reindeer, candles, silver bells; animating the collages is abundant good will coursing through the pages, where the sense of cheer is pervasive.
