KIRKUS REVIEW

The material is lucrative but the handling is prosy, insufficiently dramatized, and bit too studiedly impromptu. His reputation is beyond cavil -- the best war photographer, close friend of Richard Harding Davis, a little guy with enormous resilience, daring persistence -- ""sure uncontaminated nerve"". He covered a wide range of danger zones, the Spanish-American War, the Mexican Revolution, the Russo-Japanese War, Balkan Wars, the first World War -- 70 years of hazardous work. Plus sale for boys.
