KIRKUS REVIEW

This chronologically arranged text presents the horse in all its phases of development. From the twenty inch high Phenacodus who lived many millions of years ago to the modern thoroughbred, the horse in its various functions is interestingly described. The author illustrates the evolution of the horse with drawings both of the animal and the various accoutrements pertaining to it. Highly exact, this compact book imparts a considerable amount of information on evolution and history in general as well as providing the young equestrian with a comprehensive understanding of the specific animal.
