ROSALIE, THE BIRD MARKET TURTLE

Every Sunday morning Mister Bonaparte could be seen hauling his wooden cages to the bird market of Paris, invariably accompanied by Gaston the talking bird and Rosalie the tame turtle. This little tale tells of a particular Sunday when to the consternation of all, Rosalie disappears. How she is found offers the young reader a tour of the books, cafes, and church towers of Paris as Gaston flies above the city in his search. Back to the bird market once again and a cart laden with strawberries under which little Rosalie has been languishing.
