CORPUS CHRISTI: The Nature of The Church According to The Reformed Tradition

A first rate book about the Reformed Polity is made all the more useful by the writer's evident grasp of the nature of other Communions than the one under immediate discussion. There is no question that the author writes from within the Ecckesua Scoticana, but his grasp of the subject and his insights of the real differences between the Reformed Tradition and others will help all sorts and conditions of people who are interested either in the universal church, or even why things have to stay as they are. The discussion of the word cclesis"" and the chapter on ""Incorporation by the Holy Spirit"" are very provocative. Readers outside the Reformed Tradition will be especially interested in the discussion of continuity and the fine treatment of the relation between the Body of Christ and the Sacrament of the Lord's Table. The book is both thorough and useful, though aimed well above the average layman.
