CALIFORNIA AND THE WEST

Don't miss this, if you have any customers (a) photography fans; (b) Western fans; (c) collectors of beautiful books. There was no way of seeing this in advance of publication, due to the reproduction process, hence this late inclusion. A Guggenheim fellowship made possible two years of experimental photography, with California and the not too distant New Mexico and Arizona as happy hunting ground for two seasoned campers, armed with photographic equipment. Edward Weston's name is known to all photography experts; this volume contains some of his finest work. And Mrs. Weston has written a chatty, human sort of text, a record of the places they went, the things they did, the way in which they got the pictures. A superb job of reproduction and of book making.
