The visionary author of Rosscommon, the practical idealist of R.F.D., here presents the pattern of his search for happiness and understanding in life. He is at his best in his prescription for a happy marriage, he still seems to be groping in his approach to friendship, too subjective, possibly, in his understanding of the elements involved. But whatever he is talking about, he is stimulating, challenging, and makes one Stop, Look and Listen --makes one pause to check one's own ""wild goose chase"". Living as an art-such is his aim, and he confesses his own failures, and attempts to share his own successes. A book that must be ""sold"" to the reader, for its title, while it may provoke curiosity, does not suggest this as a ""how to do it"" book for the self help shelf. Nor is this just another of those books; its purpose cuts deeper below the surface of personal life.
