KIRKUS REVIEW

Unlike basketball or baseball, organized track and field may well be entirely new to many of Coombs' readers. So his painstaking explanation of rules and basic strategy for each event will have some application. On the other hand, athletes who want a training program will find only the barest outline here, and, though girl's track is acknowledged, female competitors are forgotten after one paragraph and a single photo. Slight.
