JOE AND BOB ON NORTHLAND TRAILS

A pleasant happy family story of a wonderful summer spent in the lake district of Wisconsin. They take Joe's friend, Bob, from Ohio, with them, and the boys find a lot going on in the little community, with contests run for the largest fish, the greatest variety of birds recognized, during the season. There is a costume party and excitement over a worrisome brat. But unfortunately, it all seems rather stereotyped and contrived, and readers lose interest quickly; no suspense, slight plot, and indifferent characterization.
