THE JOY OF GAY SEX

The fraternal twin of Lesbian Sex (below), this rounds out the batch: now everybody's covered, and Anita Bryant has our leave to go bonkers, which is probably the best thing about both of these new Joys. Again, here's the dictionary format, the nearly photographic--and very sensual--illustrations, and the helter-skelter amalgam of explicit erotica with sociological lore. A detailed chapter on ""cruising,"" for example, outlines the intricacies of the gay pickup, where there's a finely honed mating ritual to follow: establish contact, then decide whether it's to be a your-place-or-mine situation, or an I'll-call-you-later one. If it's to be the latter and telephone numbers are exchanged, the interest may indeed be there. . . or it may be a gentle put-down. What we have here is an awful lot of Joy. The players change, but the plot's the same.
