KIRKUS REVIEW

Carryl's version of the rollicking nonsense song is delightfully ""exploited"" by a fine artist who is at his best here. The Dutch cook, the Captain in his Commodore's hat, the gunner (apparently mad) and the rest of the outlandish crew are portrayed with a comical bravado, and the wild events on shipboard are contagiously funny. A robust voyage which will find eager recruits among the expected large audience.
