KIRKUS REVIEW

A varïed selection of algebra, geometry and reasoning problems accessible to others besides the local math genius and more imaginative than the textbook type. Several come from historical figures (Gauss, Fibonacci, Plato), others are as current as the 6¢ stamp (better hurry), and very few are of the tricky sort. Although a knowledge of alegbra can be applied, many can be solved just as quickly via trial-and-error; others require working with cardboard, poker chips, etc. Good for a rainy day, paydirt for a brainy kid.
