KIRKUS REVIEW

Timely story with the setting rivers in flood and a group of oddly assorted relatives and casuals segregated by raging torrents. A shooting, a strangulation, a slashing occur in quick succession, and almost everyone might have been the murderer. Which makes it difficult for the unexpected -- and unwelcome -- guests in the persons of a newspaper man and an investigator.
