KIRKUS REVIEW

This is sub-titled Are You Sure You Know? The answer is No. And I'm afraid it would take more than a book, even a book as clearly planned and developed as this, to clarify for working knowledge such topics as What makes a plane fly; What a pilot must know; How are airways followed; Basic principles of the radio beam, flying instruments, weather interpretation, etc. Much of the text is developed along the lines of the question and answer method; the balance is in a chatty, conversational style. Today's air-minded children would probably find it fascinating. Unfortunately, it is a badly made book, with the kind of binding that refuses to stay open without cracking.
