KIRKUS REVIEW

Contract Bridge Made Easy, The New Canasta and Samba, Point Count Bidding in Contract Bridge are out three volumes on Mr. Goren's already well stacked repertoire of card instruction. None of them though, have quite hit the incipient bridge player market and this one does, admirably. Easily running, informal text starts with an explantion of the deck itself and then moves quickly into bridge. Scoring and mechanics clear the way for the hierarchy of bidding- how to, responses and rebids to openers-defensive bidding, penalty doubles, slam and game bidding and playing the hand. These ABC's, written of course around a few of Goren's own methods which vary with say, Culbertson, serve as primer and bid to the fan who wants a new trick.
