Good lawns have become so scarce that gardeners seem to feel they are impossible for all but the great estates where many men are constantly at work. Mr. Parker agrees up to a point--at least he recognizes the pests and problems to be overcome in the attainment yet he feels that it is well worth the trouble. He has simplified the preparation, planting and care to a point which should be within the reach of everyone who is willing to go to some pains with his garden, for a decent lawn should be an essential setting for the flower garden.
