The clock-ticking techniques of suspense have their origin in a most normal happening -- a family's moving day. Davey Cleaves, very young and feeling very rejected, resentful and unhappy about the change in homes, precipitates a situation when he disappears during the moving. And the subsequent results (hidden in the moving van he is the witness to the disposal of a body, is kidnaped, and the focus of a local police search) build up a story that holds interest. A change of pace here.
