THE VETERANS' PROGRAM

We've had a lot of attempts along this line -- but this one comes off --and it is about time. The most clean cut and comprehensive handbook on every phase of the veteran program -- of utmost value to any veteran or veteran counsellor (check your local set-ups of veterans' administration -- USEP -- Selective Service, etc.) -- and covering all the veteran legislation in authentic, informed manner. The author is already widely known through his Sunday section of the N. Y. Times -- a guide to veterans' problems. This book will supplement such personal advice as can be had at a Veterans' center. Hurd clarifies the education rights, the rights of reemployment, employment, hospitalization, pensions, insurance, etc. etc. At times he may seem a little too optimistic about solving the problems, but always he is realistic about what problems exist. The last section is composed of questions and answers, and the index makes it useful for quick reference.
