SAILOR OF FORTUNE

What hasn't he done, this Irishman who ran away to sea, shipping before the mast, and finding the world his oyster? Shipwrecked on an island in the southern Pacific, becoming a pearl fisherman on Tahiti, doing naval duty in Africa, taking part in the Irish Revolution, smuggling guns during the war, holding a berth on Byrd's Antarctic Expedition, rum running, and so on and on. Escape reading, neither important nor particularly well done, but it fills a niche. Sell to men who like this type of book, and to older boys.
