LAST PLANE FROM ULI

Set during the Nigeria/Biafra conflict, these adventures of a mercenary pilot proceed doggedly via spaced action until the last minute flight. John Gibson, bored with London, works on assignment for a Texas oilman who is finagling concessions in Nigerian territory where the French have also been active. Gibson works with a Mr. Gobi of the Council of Ministers to obtain essential maps for his employer and the apparently cooperating Nigerian government. But he is forced into extracurricular maneuvers and nearly shoots down an old friend who is flying for Biafra and Gobi's murder possibly presages an equally dead end for Gibson. . . . The author is an experienced pilot and buffs will take to the aerial detail -- others may get lost between drinks confabs drinks liftoffs drinks confabs.
