A ""how to do it better"" book for preachers and preachers-to-be. The authors, one a teacher of homilitics at a theological seminary, the other at a state university speech center (both in Lexington, Kentucky) have collaborated very effectively on the many problems incident to pulpit delivery. The book covers all the topics essential to effective oral communication ""from breathing to the mastery of notes at the creative moment of delivery."" The key to the method of the book is analytical listening, through the use of the tape recorder. Remedial exercises are suggested to help supply each man's need. The book is likely to be most useful for class-room or preaching-clinic use, but it can also be used for private study and improvement. It should be owned and used by any preacher who wants to achieve better delivery and therefore reach people more effectively.
