Such a collection of prayer poems as this is bound to find a wide usefulness. It depicts, says Mr. Wallis, man's ""keen, enormous, haunting, never-sated thirst for God"". Much of the material here will be new to many readers, for sixty per cent of it is to be found in no other anthologies; it is all on a high level of content and expression, the vague and the saccharine having been studiously avoided.
